The goal or task at hand
For the purpose of assisting Malaysian-owned SMEs and MTCs in the manufacturing and specific service sectors with the adoption of ESG practices, the Domestic Investment Accelerator Fund (DIAF) – ESG Adoption was established as a matching grant for ESG adoption.A maximum of RM500,000 can be reimbursed per company, and the matching percentage can be either 50:50 or 70:30, depending on the specifics of the case. In order to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large-scale technology companies (MTCs) make the switch to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, we verify and validate ESG adoption, certification, and disclosures, and we subscribe software and systems for ESG tracking and data gathering. That small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and MTCs in Malaysia can continue to play an important role in international supply chains and be considered for sustainable investment opportunities; and In order to improve the chances of financial institutions, venture capital, and private equity firms providing SMEs and MTCs with financing that are ESG-mandated.
The AIF Fund scheme is designed to increase the participation of innovators in various innovation activities while fostering advancements in product, process, system, or service technologies. It also supports the development of new innovations with potential for commercialization. Funding under the AIF scheme is provided based on Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), ensuring that projects receive appropriate financial support according to their stage of development. Eligible project proposals should range from TRL 2, which involves concept formulation, to TRL 9, where the innovation is fully developed and ready for commercial deployment.
